After several years working at the University, Alberto Escudero-Pascual runs from 2004 IT +46, an ICT consultancy company with a social mission: Knowledge Transfer to the recipients. In the last four years IT+46 has been involved in the deployment of several wireless community networks in Uganda and Nigeria.

This field experience in Africa has helped us to understand the needs of communities when it comes to use ICTs. A big part of the effort has been to design, implement and document our experience.

Since 2004, the company has trained over 400 people in 15 countries and released over 650 pages of documentation under Creative Commons License.

IT+46 has been involved in three projects that reached the final of Stockholm Challenge. Two projects won the challenge in the areas of wireless connectivity (EHAS 2004) and localization (Kilinux 2006).

We expect the creation of strong team towards the creation of a sustainable model for the creation of a Village Telco. Eager to learn from other fields' experience and contribute with our experience to the project.
